People are hungry for power.

Almost everyone who gets a seat on top seems to forget why they are there, they tend to forget the needs of people. This is happening everywhere from politics, business world all the way to the church. People are hungry for power, as a result they can do anything even playing by the name of God.

This is happening every now and again in politics, it starts from community councilor up to the president of the country. We all know that Mr. Jacob Zuma our president had to resign because people of the country and those who work with him are tired of how greedy and manipulative he is. Before he got on top he was begging people to vote for him, he promised to be always there for them, gave the poor hope that life would change for the better but instead it got worse.

These things are happening everywhere, even on our communities. The ward councilors are very hungry for power. They beg the community members to vote for them, they promise to change the standard of living on their communities as they have suffered also. The problem starts when they are voted for and appointed as the new ward councilors. The jobs they promised to the community are given to the relatives and friends. They move to suburbs and forget about people and their needs. Mostly they forget why they where appointed from the first place. It is sad how people are hungry for power in nowadays.

Disadvantaged schools in townships

It is so sad to be a learner in township high schools in nowadays. Learners are taught almost all of their subjects in their mother tongue, they are lucky only if the teacher does not share a mother tongue with them, as a result they are not familiar with English and that is very unfortunate because when they get to University they are expected to be fluent in English. When these learners get in University they start to develop negative attitude towards other students whom are fluent in English, they start to judge them and call them names.

There are no computer related subjects and computer skills are very important as Universities are using E-Learning because of advanced technology in our country.

Most high schools are said to be school fees FREE but you will find that learners are charged money every month end as if they are paying school fees. Some learners depend on the social grant and  you will find that half of their money goes to school to pay for broken windows, typek white papers or security guard, why can't the government provide these public schools with all that?

Teachers are facing so much problems at township high schools today as learners go to school with empty stomach and struggle to focus during the first periods, there are many learners in a classroom as a result it is hard for a teacher to assist each learner. The environment around school is not friendly, sometimes you would find that a child was stabbed during school break time or even teaching time.
Drug dealers are wondering in streets waiting for the school break time to sell drugs to learners.
What needs to be done to change the lives of these children?

Horrible singers

Have you ever had a friend who likes to sing and yet she can not sing?

I have many crazy friends who keeps me going in this University (WSU).Having friends who keeps you laughing every now and then helps you in not thinking too much more especially about school and sometimes how failing you are.It is true when they say laughter is the best medicine, I laugh and sometimes forget that i was stressed.

People close to me are so funny and that is a good thing because I like acting serious and I need those kinds of friends and sisters (crazy ones). They like to sing and yet they can not sing, they always sing out loud and get all the attention to themselves.I feel like hiding my self sometimes when they are singing.
Thando my sister and Nkosikhona my best friend are the most horrible singers I know, I love them more because of that.

Do you have a friend who likes to sing and yet she can not?

Modern Youth lacks discipline

Lack of consistent discipline is increasingly becoming the major problem among families today. This new generation of parents (teens) is convinced that discipline means parents are abusing or unreasonably punishing their own children, when in actuality lack of discipline is the form of abuse.Modern youth has virtually no morals, this is because most did not learn respect, courtesy, decency, propriety, honesty and righteousness from a young age.Youth does not have self-discipline.

We can blame parents for not disciplining their children at the young age.It is because of them that moral values and self-discipline are slowly diminishing in the youth. The way parents are bringing up their kids is weak and very worrying and because of that most kids are likely not to have respect for their parents and the members of the public. Some parents are violent and that makes a child to grow to be violent also.

In contrast, children tended to be better behaved if their parents combined warmth with clear and consistent rules and boundaries.

what is it that we should do so that most of us could become better persons in life?

Illegal electricity wire connections in Mdantsane East London

Illegal electricity wire connections usually called ''izinyoka'' by people living in Mdantsane in East London continues to kill many innocent people.

Many people living in shacks in the township of Mdantsane in East London are using illegal electricity wire connections which are not connected by Eskom but by non electricity graduates of Mdantsane township of which some  had dropped out of school at an early age. This illegal electricity connection is continuing to claim lives of innocent people, mainly young and very old people.

I remember in November 2016, a 64 year old year old woman died after she allegedly tripled over illegally connected electric wires. She was walking home from hospital when the incident occurred. The similar incident happened to a young boy who was playing and fell over the illegally connected wires but fortunately the boy did not die, he was rushed to Cecilia Makiwane hospital where he got help immediately.

It is so sad that even after so many people dying because of these illegal wires, the people of Mdantsane especially those living in shacks do not want to change their lifestyle.
